This plugs directly into your cigarette lighter outlet.the main reason i wanted this was because the tv in the back seat have to be plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet and the cord is almost to short. We have been stretching it to its limit to get it to reach. Now we can plug the tvs directly into this and have extra cord left!! It is simply put and extension cord for your outlet. The plug for the TV's fit perfectly and they played just as they would if we plugged it directly into the outlet. This is very well made and very durable. The cord is thick and highly quality, but is flexible. The plastic ends are made of hard plastic which also seems to be of high quality. This is not a cheaply made product, but is very easily affordable. I love this and am very pleased with the results. I was allowed to test this at a discount for my thoughts good or bad.
